BiodivAMP – Development of tools for monitoring and protection of biodiversity in Marine Protected Areas along the Portuguese coast
The BiodivAMP project will develop tools for the monitoring and protection of biodiversity in Protected Marine Areas (MPAs) along the Portuguese coast, namely: i) develop a manual of good practices for the monitoring, management and governance of MPAs on the Portuguese coast; ii) to implement a pilot project for the “Application of an innovative non-invasive monitoring method in AMP’s: eDNA as a tool in the monitoring of Biodiversity”. The iii) dissemination of the project activities and results is a transversal objective to the two main objectives, assuming a relevance to inform the general public about the importance of MPAs and to provide stakeholders with tools to manage MPAs more effectively and sustainably.
