Abstract/Aim
The BiodivAMP project will develop tools for the monitoring and protection of biodiversity in Protected Marine Areas (MPAs) along the Portuguese coast, namely: i) develop a manual of good practices for the monitoring, management and governance of MPAs on the Portuguese coast; ii) to implement a pilot project for the “Application of an innovative non-invasive monitoring method in AMP’s: eDNA as a tool in the monitoring of Biodiversity”. The iii) dissemination of the project activities and results is a transversal objective to the two main objectives, assuming a relevance to inform the general public about the importance of MPAs and to provide stakeholders with tools to manage MPAs more effectively and sustainably.
