Seaweed Toilet Soap: Product development and knowledge transfer
Abstract/Aim
The aim of this project is the development of a technological process for the preparation of a solid toilet soap containing seaweed possessing antimicrobial, antioxidant and / or exfoliating properties. The soap formulation, together with the drying optimization studies of the algae, physical and chemical analysis and production processes optimization, will be carried out. The end result is an innovative dermocosmetic product, in the form of a seaweed toilet soap developed in Portugal for the Portuguese and international markets, presenting unique and distinctive properties. This combination of a soap and selected seaweed can create an appealing and sophisticated product, which cares for and protects the skin.
